Launch of Westport Festival of Chamber Music 2015

Councillor Michael Holmes, Cathaoirleach of Mayo County Council, launched the Westport Festival of Chamber Music on Sunday July 19th in the Holy Trinity Church. The Festival runs from September 11th to 13th, and will see Irish and international musicians come together to provide three days of soaring, atmospheric chamber music in some of Westport's most historic buildings.

The Festival will open with a concert in Westport House on Friday September 11th, sponsored by Nephin Irish Whiskey.

On Saturday the Young Musician concert will be performed in Holy Trinity Church by cellist Sinead O'Halloran and pianist Gary Beecher, who performed in the first Westport Festival in 2013.

The Holy Trinity Church will also host the Saturday night concert from 8.00pm while the final concert on Sunday 13th at 3.00pm will be held in the newly renovated Westport Town Hall.

The free event this year is at 12.30pm on Sunday in the Clew Bay Hotel, where Gary Leahy will chat to a few of the musicians about their instruments.
