Gradam Gnó le Gaeilge

The winner of the Gradam Gnó le Gaeilge 2014 will be announced in Knockranny House Hotel, on Thursday, 15th January at 7.30pm.

The Gradam Gnó le Gaeilge is a business award competition, organised by Gnó Mhaigh Eo, which recognises established companies and local enterprises in Mayo that have effectively incorporated the Irish language into their business in some way.

This year the award is worth over €7,000 in advertising and training to the winning business. They will also receive a specially commissioned piece of art designed by two local artists.

Six businesses from around the county made the shortlist and the winner will be revealed for the first time on the night. The businesses on the shortlist are Alt na Croí Pottery (Achill), De Búrca – Traditional Butcher Shop (Castlebar), Hotel Ballina (Ballina), Mindful Productivity (Claremorris), Oileán Éadaigh – West Mayo Brewery (Islandeady), and Rua (Castlebar).

Each of the six businesses on the shortlist will host a display stand so be sure to come along and sample some tasty nibbles and view the wares on display. Musical entertainment will be by Westport-based jazz trio, Ain’t Misbehavin’ and there will be a wine reception on arrival.

The evening will also provide an opportunity for other businesses and the general public to come along and see the work ongoing, and to learn how Gnó Mhaigh Eo can assist your business in 2015. All are welcome on the night. Beidh fáilte romhat!

Allergan was established in Westport in 1977 and has repeatedly expanded over the last four decades, contributing significantly to the local economy.

The Westport facility is now the largest manufacturing plant within the company network, and it also has the largest number of Allergan staff in one location, outside of the company’s corporate headquarters.

In Ireland, our focus fosters deep engagement with medical specialists and we make it our business to listen closely to their needs so that together we can advance patient care.
